“Mr speaker, sir, ECDE teachers are not being recognized as teachers but rather being treated as support staff supervisors in the duty stations that they are posted, that some even have the prerequisite qualifications and TSC numbers. I am aware of instances where some were engaged on different and lower job group of E, that of a support staff supervisor instead of Job group J of an ECDE assistant teacher one. Mr Speaker, I want to note that this is an act of discrimination and a demotivating factor to the affected teachers” said Hon. Makalo.
